Thanks to our generous friends and neighbors in the community, Skagit County Community Action Agency was able to raise $20,031 in cash and donated items to benefit those most in need this Holiday Season!

Our Sincere Thanks and Appreciation to all of you, for Helping People and Changing Lives!

(Updated 1/6/09)

As the holiday season lies before us, we are facing difficult economic situations.  Families are struggling to pay bills and put food on their tables.  Families who have been stable are losing their footing, and wonder where to turn for help and guidance.  Community Action Agency fills that role.

We are seeing more families and individuals in need than ever, and it is our promise to the community to help people and change lives – and we are asking our friends in Skagit County to make this promise to their friends and neighbors in crisis as well.

From now until December 31, we are inviting our friends and community partners to help us meet the greatest needs of those hurting in our community.

Won’t you help make a difference in the lives of families in Skagit County?

Give DIFFERENTLY this Year:

Help feed the hungry by making a donation to one of our Food programs, including:

bullet

The Food Distribution Center, which works with 13 local food banks

bullet

Our Skagit Food Share Alliance, which helps purchase fresh local proteins and produce for distribution to area food banks

bullet

Our Mobile Food Express,  to help maintain our food van, which delivers food to homebound and disabled individuals and families

Help meet the needs of those in emergency situations, by making a gift to:

bullet

Our Critical Needs Program, which provides vouchers for shelter, food, gasoline or clothing

bullet

Our Volunteer Chore Program, which provides solutions to accessibility issues, like building wheelchair ramps or installing grab bars in showers, to help keep our senior and disabled neighbors in their homes

bullet

Our Community Voice Mail Program, which provides homeless and unemployed families with free 24-hour voice mail so they can find work, housing and stay in touch with family, friends, and loved ones

Help create a home for the homeless families in our community by:

bullet

Giving to our Family Development Center so that we may provide household items for our furnished temporary apartments for homeless families
