WIC

The WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Food and Nutrition Program helps give children a healthy start for life with:

bullet$40 to $50 in healthy foods each month
bulletInformation on children's growth and nutrition
bulletTips and assistance for a successful breastfeeding experience
bulletCommunity information and individualized referrals
bulletFriendly, caring services

Community Action's WIC Program serves families on a tight budget, unemployed families, and families receiving TANF.  Services are provided in Anacortes and Mount Vernon.  Community Action also administers a WIC program for Naval Air Station Whidbey Island.  In all, our WIC program serves nearly 6,000 clients each year.

Pregnant women, breastfeeding women, infants, and children to age 5 are encouraged to apply.
