Job Title: TV Production Technician I
Wage: $15.00 per hour, plus benefits

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY:     This position oversees educational and informational TV productions in conjunction with the contract between the City of Mount Vernon and Skagit County Community Action Agency (SCCAA) for TV 10 English and TV 26 Spanish programming.  Responsibilities shall include creating show format, operating video cameras and accessories, editing productions, creating “Bulletin Board” content, and taping special events.  This position co-locates at SCCAA and the City of Mount Vernon studio. This is a key position in positively representing SCCAA and the City of Mount Vernon.  Operates under the supervision of SCCAA’s Health Division Director/Deputy Director and follows the direction and reports to the Mount Vernon Productions and Operations Supervisor.

Job Title: AmeriCorps*State Northwest Washington Reading Corps Member
Wage: $925 Monthly Stipend

JOB SUMMARY:     The AmeriCorps*State Northwest Washington Reading Corps (NWWRC) member will primarily engage in direct-service K-6 literacy tutoring of students one-on-one, or in small groups at a local elementary school in one of the four counties currently being served by the Northwest Washington Reading Corps program. The NWWRC AmeriCorps member also works with two to four other NWWRC AmeriCorps members at their school site, as well as being part of the larger regional NWWRC team. Members are required to average a minimum of 40 hours per week, and to accrue a minimum of 1700 hours during their 10 1/2 month term of service, which begins September 1, 2008 and ends July 15, 2009. Dual supervision of AmeriCorps*State NWWRC members will be carried out by the Site Supervisor at the school site, and by the Project Supervisor of the Northwest Washington Reading Corps. Members are required to attend orientation trainings sponsored by Northwest Washington Reading Corps during the first two weeks of their term of service. Members will also attend bimonthly team trainings on a variety of Washington Reading Corps required training topics (e.g. tutoring, diversity, effective communication, teambuilding).

BENEFITS:     Monthly living stipend of $925/month, health benefits (individuals only), childcare benefits for those who qualify, student loan forbearance for qualified education loans, post-service education award of $4725, ongoing training and professional development.
